Job Description:

SCOPE: Develops, coordinates, and implements early detection and education activities in the MSLOU Region which includes Adams, Franklin, Jefferson and Wilkinson counties and Catahoula, Concordia, LaSalle, E. Feliciana and W. Feliciana parishes. Assist in the coordination of department wide strategies and implementation plans for cancer prevention education and early detection that can be implemented in multiple parishes.  Plans community outreach and education activities based on identified needs and annual initiatives, includes activities aimed at enhancing infrastructure, mobilizing support, utilizing data and research, building partnership and conducting evaluation.

FUNCTIONS:

1.    Develop and implement a prevention, education and early detection strategy for the MSLOU Region 

2.    Coordinates community cancer screenings and education events for MSLOU Region as well assist with department wide prevention and early detection strategies and activities

3.    Maintain data and reporting

4.    Additional functions and duties for other service areas as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

A college degree preferably in science, education or allied health degree desired, however, appropriate work related experience may be substituted.

Experience with cancer prevention, control or wellness programs desired

Demonstrated professionalism, tact and diplomacy in dealing with patients, physicians, allied health professionals and peers.
Ability to attend events after hours and on weekends around the MSLOU Region which includes Adams, Franklin, Jefferson and Wilkinson counties and Catahoula, Concordia, LaSalle, E. Feliciana and W. Feliciana parishes.
