Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of applications and providing technical support to end-users. Your typical day will involve troubleshooting and resolving software issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the improvement of system performance and stability.
Roles & Responsibilities:
o Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter), focusing on advanced configurations including vSAN, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), and Metro Clustering for high availability and disaster recovery.
o Implement and optimize vSAN for software-defined storage solutions, ensuring efficient storage utilization, performance, and data replication.
o Manage HCI solutions like Nutanix or VxRail integrated with VMware for a streamlined, high-performance virtualized infrastructure.
o Ensure resilience and fault tolerance through Metro Clustering, configuring cross-site clustering and ensuring seamless failover between datacenters.
o Monitor and manage vSphere clusters, resource pools, and advanced features such as vMotion, DRS, HA, FT, and Storage DRS.
o Deploy, configure, and manage vRealize Operations (vROps) for proactive monitoring, performance optimization, and capacity planning across VMware environments.
o Create and manage custom dashboards, alerts, and reports in vROps to monitor the health and performance of vSphere, vSAN, and HCI environments.
o Identify potential issues, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities through vROps analytics, ensuring smooth operation of virtualized infrastructure.
o Administer and maintain Windows Server (2022, 2019, 2016, 2012) environments both on-premises and in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
o Configure and manage Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, File/Print Services, and Failover Clustering.
o Implement high availability using Microsoft Failover Clustering and Network Load Balancing (NLB) for critical services.
o Manage Windows Server instances in Azure, AWS, and GCP, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient operation.
Professional & Technical Skills:
o Extensive experience managing VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) with expertise in vSAN, HCI solutions (e.g., Nutanix, VxRail), and Metro Clustering.
o Strong expertise in Windows Server management (2022, 2019, 2016, 2012) both on-premises and in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
o Hands-on experience with SCCM for software deployment, patch management, and endpoint protection.
o Proficiency in managing WSUS for patching and compliance reporting.
o Advanced knowledge of server hardening, vulnerability remediation, and security standards across Windows Servers and cloud environments.
o Proficiency in managing vRealize Operations (vROps) for monitoring, analytics, and performance optimization.
o Experience with DFS, Print Servers, NPS, DHCP, Antivirus Solutions (Symantec/McAfee), FTP/SFTP, and Failover Clustering.
o 2+ years of experience managing VMware vSphere, vSAN, and HCI solutions.
o 1+ years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) managing Windows Server workloads and infrastructure.
o Proven track record in vulnerability remediation and server hardening across hybrid cloud environments.
