Role Summary:

As an GL Accounting Supervisor, you will lead a team of accountants in assigned US GAAP accounting, including accruals, account reconciliation, recurring journal entries, consolidation, ad-hoc queries, and adjustments. You lead the team in month-end closings, reconciliations, and audit processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Together with the transition team, supervise a team to transfer general ledger responsibilities from the US or EU headquarters to the shared services center.

  • Oversee a team of 6-8 accountants in their day-to-day work. - Oversee daily accounting, month-end closing processes, and account reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP.

  • Work with headquarters controllers to ensure the accuracy and control of their headquarters' financial statements.

  • Support internal and external audits.

  • Responsible for balancing the team's workload and ensuring that month-end deadlines and other KPI targets for the team are met.

  • Help develop an environment and culture that supports the attraction and retention of quality talent.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure that end-to-end processes function within the assigned region or centers.

  • Maintain a good relationship with center managers to ensure an adequate level of service.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls for center operations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or public accounting.

  • 5-7 years of experience in general accounting.

  • Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS required.

  • Experience in the start-up or significant growth phase of a service center.

  • Proven ability to motivate and develop people.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strong inclination for action and ability to proactively recognize and solve problems.

  • Create a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) is an advantage.

  • Interest in building positive relationships.

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to process changes.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
