SUMMARY

The Grants Manager will provide support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Public Health Infrastructure Program (PHI). This program addresses critical public health infrastructure needs of jurisdictions across the United States. Executes ongoing and comprehensive grants management, working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including Program Officers, leadership, grantees, and more.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of grants management activities for the program, including review and drafting of funding packages, non-continuing continuations, supplemental funding, recipient coordination, communications, and GrantSolutions support.  

Prepares a full range of financial and grant related reports, analyzes financial information, and makes recommendations to leadership for efficient operations within the Grants Management Office.

Performs grant-related pre and post award functions such as grant application reviews, host pre-award meetings, grant reconciliation, payment management system analysis, and preparing/submitting financial reports.

Reviews, interprets, and writes policies and procedures associated with grant accounting.

Coordinates with programmatic personnel to ensure grantee activities are in alignment with the intended purpose.

Provides ongoing technical assistance to grantees.

Develops, designs, and implements procedures to monitor grant budget performance including the creation and maintenance of grant databases for analysis and forecasting of financial information.

Prepared status reports for use by designated leadership, as requested; identify issues and communicate with designated leadership and grantees.

Serves as a point of contact to grantees receiving funding to ensure all grant requirements are being met.

Implements efficient day-to-day operations to deliver a superior level of performance and productivity.

Reviews and monitors grant awards for compliance with private, local, state, and federal requirements.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or a closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years of professional level experience in accounting and/or a closely related fiscal activity.  

Experience working with the CDC and/or a federal agency is preferred.

Functional knowledge of GrantSolutions and federal grant processes and timelines is a plus.

Knowledge/experience with Microsoft Professional Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).

Knowledge of the grant’s management cycle design, monitoring, and evaluation.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The pay range for this role is 82K - 115K, with the final offer amount dependent on location, skillset, and experience.
