Summary:
As an Application Designer, you will assist in defining requirements and designing applications to meet business process and application requirements. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, creating design specifications, and ensuring that the applications align with business objectives. You will also engage in discussions with team members to refine designs and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the development process, ensuring that the final product meets the highest standards of quality and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop modernized application solutions within the AWS ecosystem using Python.
• Leverage cloud-native tools and technologies including Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable applications.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and ensure application reliability and performance.
• Adhere to agile development methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement.
Technical Experience
Must Have:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable applications using Python/Java on AWS infrastructure.
• Migrate legacy systems to AWS using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop modular, reusable ETL pipelines using AWS Glue (DynamicFrames, bookmarks, partitioning, Glue Data Catalog).
• Extensive experience with AWS services: Lambda, Fargate, ECS, ECR, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, Redshift.
• Implement data ingestion, validation, transformation, and quality checks.
• Optimize Spark/Glue job performance (executor memory, parallelism, shuffle management).
• Utilize multithreading and multiprocessing to improve Glue job execution.
• Implement job monitoring, alerting, and error handling with CloudWatch and SNS.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for workflows, schemas, and runbooks.
• Follow CI/CD and agile practices using tools like GitLab and Docker.
• Ensure data security through encryption, masking, and access controls.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Git.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Python (Programming Language).
- This position is based in Chennai.
