David Zwirner, Los Angeles, seeks a Gallery Intern for Fall 2024. Interns should be curious with a willingness to learn, as well as highly personable, motivated, and responsible, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate will work closely with and learn from all gallery departments, including front-of-house, sales, registration, marketing/press, and operations. This position requires professionalism, curiosity, flexibility, and dedication.

Primary areas of focus will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the Gallery’s front-of-house team
    • Greeting visitors with professionalism and warmth.
    • Assisting when necessary with fielding and directing incoming phone calls.
    • Assisting with the maintenance of general office and kitchen supply inventories.
    • Assist with the shipping, receiving, and distribution of mail and packages across all NY galleries
  • Working with the Gallery’s sales team
    • Preparing and updating printed materials throughout the gallery.
    • Upon request, assisting with data entry and data review projects.
    • Upon request, assisting with the assembly of materials for exhibitions.
  • Events support
    • Assist with tasks related to on-site events, both public and private as well as exhibition openings.
  • Special projects as requested

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • An interest in contemporary art and the gallery’s program.
  • A willingness to learn about the contemporary art market.
  • The ability to work well with a team.

The position’s hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM, for a period of 4 to 5 months. Intern will be paid City of Los Angeles minimum wage of $17.28/hour. Only qualified candidates will be contacted. Absolutely no calls or walk-ins please.
