About the role:
We are looking for an experienced technical manager (C++) to help grow and enhance our PTP software platform. The candidate will manage a team who will work on strategic enhancements to the platform as well as on client implementation projects. The PTP Platform is a leading-edge, cloud-based Securities Processing solution that provides trade lifecycle processing for a wide range of global financial institutions.

About the team:  
As a technical manager, you’ll be part of our PTP Platform development group. The group is broken into smaller scrum teams that each hold responsibility for a key area of system functionality. You will be responsible for mentoring team, taking active role in system design, development, troubleshooting, maintaining a product and responsible for a team who would be producing high quality deliverable and take ownership of key functional areas.

What you will be doing:

As a technical manager, you will be involved in:

• Managing a team of 10-15 highly motivated C++ developers, QA.
• Strong hands on C++, DevOPS
• Strong in OOPS concepts, DBMS Concepts, Design / Architecture abilities and troubleshooting skills.
• Implementation experience of designing scalable, high-performance systems.
• Experience in using Agile / Lean practices and methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead, drive and contribute to multiple projects / initiatives.
• Proactive, result driven approach and be able to work with business side stakeholders.
• Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts.
• Attention to detail – track record of authoring high quality documentation
• Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements

What you will need:

• 10+ years of commercial software development experience using C++
• SQL experience
• Relevant degree in a numeric discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Excellent written and spoken English

Added bonus if you have:

• Unix/Linux experience
• Oracle Experience
• Experience of event-driven distributed messaging (e.g. Kafka)
• Experience of financial markets and the trade lifecycle beneficial
• C# and any GUI development experience
