Job Purpose
This role is responsible for the project management of one or more infrastructure work-packages delivering IT infrastructure for use throughout GSK. Project management responsibilities may include leading a single project, a project work-package or working as part of a larger team, lead by somebody else.
Ensures that all regulatory laws, corporate and local policies and service principles are followed for all project activity.
Supervises project team members, applying prior project experience to ensure delivery of the right solutions at the right time, to the right level of quality.
The candidate will manage project activities from eliciting requirements, through to delivery of the solution in partnership with GP&T service teams and local site IT and business groups
Key Responsibilities : Describe the key deliverables to be achieved by the post holder and the ongoing responsibilities of the role.
Work with appropriate stakeholders and project sponsors to understand the requirements.
Have sole responsibility for the delivery of projects (or discrete work packages within larger projects).
Manage a matrix team to deliver solutions and processes in support of project objectives and requirements – leading the project team and motivation all team members with clear direction and communication
Manage the project plan, budget, risks and issues, escalating to senior management when appropriate.
Identify and actively monitor delivery of external dependencies.
Define the deployment strategy and prepare and execute the project plan – ensuring the project solution is transition to full support post delivery
Manage the project budget on behalf of the appropriate Programme Manager or Sponsor.
Work closely with other GSK IT groups to ensure adequate resources are deployed to ensure delivery
Ensure effective communications planning, stakeholder identification and engagement, regular status reporting to key stakeholders, both within GP&T (internal) and with the appropriate programme (customer).
Build close working relationships with stakeholders and relevant business contacts to ensure i) confidence is built and maintained, ii) all stakeholders are informed and engaged during the project, and iii) the solution supports the GP&T adoption by new markets and delivers maximum benefit.
Hands on experience in delivering complex infrastructure related projects t in large scale global Life Sciences or FMCG industries
10+ years proven experience delivering complex projects or acting as a SAFe Release Train Engineer
Self starter with a sense of urgency.
Clear communicator.
Experience with managing project schedules, finances, risks and issues.
Close attention to detail
Aptitude to quickly grasp technical topics in sufficient detail to effectively communicate with customers and Tech delivery teams.
Understanding of project governance and/or Agile standards and procedures.
Completion of Project Management or Agile Training Curriculum.
Ability and willingness to be flexible, adapting to the demands of the customers.
Technical knowledge to understand projects and trade-off choice
Experience of managing matrix teams.
Experience of senior stakeholder management
