Job Description:

The Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) is looking for a detail-orientated person to serve as Administrative Specialist in our administration area. This person will perform technical work or services with accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.

DUTIES:
• Coordinates tours, professional visits, schedules and supervises virtual court hearings.
• Works with NDCS communications team to promote NCCW on social media.
• Assists with program coverage.
• Serves as liaison for litigation, to include investigating and preparing responses for tort claims.
• Functions as the public information officer for NCCW. Provides timely responses to inquiries from the public, other state agencies and the courts.
• Effectively communicates, organizes, and presents material concisely and accurately.
• Works under pressure with good interpersonal skills.
• Independently prioritizes work, organize, meet deadlines and multi-task.
• Serves as a back-up to the Records Manager.


 

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.

Preferred Qualifications: Work experience in customer service or corrections settings. Proficiencies in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Other: Valid driver's license is required. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
