Europe LRD Underwriting Unit is an integral part of the Institutional Credit Management ("ICM") organization.  The Unit’s mandate is to deliver best-in-class credit risk analysis, monitoring and credit administration in line with Local Regulatory Requirements as a partner to Risk and Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory's (BCMA) shared commitment to ensuring the safety and soundness of wholesale lending. It covers multiple portfolios, including Europe and some of the countries in the Middle-East and Africa.

Credit Senior Analyst is responsible for providing risk analysis and support for assessment of the obligors’ creditworthiness in the credit portfolio.  They are also responsible for ensuring quality assurance and timely delivery, while being the primary responsible for coaching and training of the team of AVPs and Credit Risk Analysts.

The Europe LRD Underwriting Unit in Budapest is responsible for the

1. Quality assurance and completion of the obligors’ credit assessments prepared by other business units of Citigroup

2. Preparation and submission of obligors’ credit assessments

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and complete Credit Approval Memo packages as per local regulatory requirements fully independently
• Analyse and assess risks in the credit relationships and formulate respective recommendations for CEP Credit risk management approval
• Work closely with Credit Officers, Relationship/Product Managers and Traders / Salespeople to facilitate transaction approvals.
• Provide credit input to standardize credit-related documents and reporting for the portfolio.
• Performs reporting and data analysis for the portfolio.
• Lead local risk management projects.
• Involvement in regional and global Risk management projects.
• Ensure Credit Risk MCA and Controls are effective.
• Performs other duties and functions as assigned.

Development Value:

The Credit Analyst Team is expected to grow over time in terms of responsibilities. Responsibilities are planned to be gradually expanded towards partial and end-to-end preparation of credit approval memorandums.

The Credit Senior Analyst is going to work with other analyst team globally, credit approver’s chain as well as various business coverage groups globally. He/She is expected to gather sound knowledge of Citi’s credit relationships both in terms of credit profile of the covered clients and in terms of Citi’s product offerings.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Candidate should have 5-8 years of credit or related experience.
• Deep knowledge of credit products and specific industry characteristics (manufacturing, services, banks etc.).
• Good understanding of loan agreements, support documentation.
• Experience in coordination of special projects/tasks

Skills:

• Both English and French reading and speaking. Knowledge of Arabic language is also beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to decompose transactions into the core risks.  Good quantitative skills a must.
• Sound Risk and Business judgment on the full spectrum of risk issues including Operational and Franchise Risk
• Ability to shift through complexity and articulate issues clearly
• Ability to work independently on complex cases, processes

               

Qualifications:

• University Degree/Graduate Degree in Business, Finance or Economics or equivalent is a plus.
