The Pharmacy Technician – Ambulatory supports outpatient pharmacy operations at the Taussig Cancer Center, providing exceptional service to oncology patients throughout their treatment journey. Working in a patient-centered environment, this caregiver fills and processes prescriptions, assists patients at the pharmacy counter, answers medication-related phone inquiries, and supports insurance coordination, including prescription coverage and prior authorizations. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with pharmacists, providers, and Medication Access Coordinators to resolve prescription issues, maintaining medication inventory, and helping ensure patients receive timely access to their medications. This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and families while supporting high-quality oncology care.
A caregiver in this position will work rotating day shifts between 7:45am to 4:15pm, 8:45am to 5:15pm, and 9:45am to 6:15pm, Monday through Friday, at the Taussig Cancer Center – 1st Floor Pharmacy. Caregivers participate in a rotating weekend schedule every fourth to fifth weekend at the Euclid Avenue Pharmacy and work approximately one holiday every three to four years. Weekend assignments at the Euclid Avenue Pharmacy serve as this role's primary float expectation.
