The Facilities Mechanic III will be responsible for the completion of routine and non-routine maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.  Will work with contractors and team members for the installation, set-up, preventative maintenance, and repair of equipment associated with cGMP manufacturing operations and utilities. Ensures schedule adherence to meet cGMP compliance on all assigned tasks. This job has a primary focus on the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment, updating and creating LSOP’s, maintenance plans, spare parts and requires a strong background in construction and/or maintenance.

  • Work with flexibility within the Technical Services Department and in co-operation with other Departments.
  • Responsible for the installation, set-up, preventive maintenance, and repair of equipment associated with the cGMP manufacturing installations.
  • Ability to work in one or more maintenance/construction trades (e.g. Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Carpentry, or Welding).
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical failures of various equipment throughout site.
  • Ensure compliance to GSK policies and procedures during the maintenance of cGMP and black utilities equipment, and ensures all activities performed are executed following quality and regulatory standards with an emphasis on cGDP practices.
  • Perform required daily and monthly rounds and readings on equipment as assigned by department lead and/or Supervisor.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance activities throughout facility and grounds.
  • Maximizes total system uptime by monitoring system performance and making repairs/adjustments as necessary (Electrical Systems, Chillers, Air Compressors, Vacuums, Air Handlers, Refrigeration, Boilers, etc.)
  • Proactively follow up on re-occurring technical issues and has the skills necessary to perform updates to maintenance plans and procedures.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Department Lead or Supervisor.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • 5+ years of experience in the maintenance of industrial manufacturing or installation of industrial machinery
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Position may require employees to work shifts, holidays, weekends, and over-time
  • Physical requirements including stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting up to 50lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Plumbing License
  • HVAC experience
  • Technical Degree and/or Bachelor's Degree
  • Proven experience in implementing process improvements including ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
  • A team player, with a flexible approach and good interpersonal and communication skills
