Tasks and responsibilities

  • Design, development, and operation of technology platforms in the area of data warehousing (lake), big data and analytics, which ensure efficient data prcessing and storage
  • Ensure an open, responsible and sustainable handling of data at Rentschler Biopharma and its subsidiaries, among other things by owning and guiding the development of a group-wide data catalog
  • Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and storage solutions to support efficient data retrieval and analysis
  • In partnership with IT, data science, and business stakeholders, define and implement the data governance architecture and standards that underpin existing technologies and is the guidance for implementation of future data enabled systems & services
  • Delivering on the next phase of our data lake based on that data governance
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new data technologies and tools to enhance our data infrastructure
  • In accordance with customer requirements and in partnership with data scientists, develop and operate complex ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) pipelines to process and manage large & dynamic datasets from diverse sources, including regulated & controlled systems, in adherence to IT data management best practices
  • Design and deliver data integration and ongoing data delivery to support operational and project-based requirements. You structure and define processes for the data management, data governance, and data catalog initiatives
  • In partnership with data scientists and IT colleagues, enable the delivery of data services to fulfill client demands and further Rentschler's position as a premium provider of data services, which leverage current and future data and AI technologies
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data systems, processes, and workflows to ensure compliance with data governance, security policies, and regulatory requirements

What is important to us

  • College/university degree in data analytics, informatics, bio informatics, or a comparable field, or you have completed an IT apprenticeship or comparable training with multiple years of professional experience
  • Advanced programming skills, preferably in one of the languages SQL, Python or PowerShell  
  • Deep data analytics experience, including data modeling and visualization
  • Extensive experience architecting and managing data services in a Business Insights (BI) and Big Data environment, especially in a Microsoft SQL and Azure environment, and preferably with Hadoop and Spark
  • Strong experience with agile software development and the operation of Extract Transform Load (ETL) routes, as well as with databases (especially MS SQL)
  • Experience in applying flexibility and creativity in the conceptualization and realization of digitalization projects, which are enabled through data services, such as leveraging problem analysis, design thinking, and prototyping
  • Passion for change processes and enthusiasm for working in agile, interdisciplinary teams
  • Highly organized with well-structured work process and deep project management skills
  • Strong customer orientation and ability to confidently interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Friendliness and strong communication skills, flexibility and ability to work under pressure
  • Excited to work in interdisciplinary teams & stakeholders across physical and virtual environments, as well as with external consultants
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • Very good skills in the Microsoft's M365 suite of productivity software
