Team/Role Overview
The Regulatory Reporting Automation and Data Transformation Senior Specialist will analyze legacy processes and End User Computing solutions, as well as available data sources, to come up with technology solutions to automate said processes and decrease manual tasks. This is a technical DEVELOPER role, the person will work with almost exclusively with KNIME as he/she develops automated workflows that replace earlier manual (mostly excel based) reporting solutions. He/she will test the solutions and work with Technology to deploy them into production systems.
This role will liaise with several departments outside of Finance, many of them located overseas, thereby gaining exposure to a broad range of international stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Work with stakeholders in Regulatory Reporting function of Finance to develop and deploy digital solutions that simplify or fully automate the creation of financial reports for internal use or for financial regulators.
Design, Create and Deploy automation solutions with data transformation workflows (e.g. KNIME), automation scripts (e.g. Excel VBA, Python) or Robotic Process Automation - RPA tools (e.g. Automation Anywhere).
Independently develop or lead the development of solutions using Agile development approach, to maximize value delivered with limited resources and tight deadlines without compromising quality, modularity and maintainability.
Support the creation of new business case proposals to initiate projects targeted at improving efficiency and productivity.
Contribute to the design, roll-out and governance of digital financial solutions.
Participate in formulating and setting strategic direction for the automation of regulatory report creation processes.
Collaborate on assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into finance processes and applications in the context of regulatory report creation.
Mentor junior colleagues on the use of digital technology tools, to upskill non-technical Finance team members and facilitate handover of developed solution.
What we’ll need from you
Bachelors’ degree
5+ years’ work experience in field related to role (e.g. development with ETL and/or BI tools, technology development, reporting, automation roles).
Knowledge of Data Transformation tools (KNIME, Alteryx, Talend, PowerBI) is an advantage. Related certifications are a plus.
Experience in VBA, Python, C, C++, C#, MS Access, SQL is an advantage.
Working knowledge or willingness to pick up industry practices and standards (financial products, markets, accounting principles, understanding of regulatory frameworks).
Knowledge or prior experience with any of data analytics/visualization/automation/programming tools.
BA knowledge/experience is beneficial.
Prior experience leading small project teams is an advantage.
Finance, Accounting or related experience is a plus.
