You will advocate for both merchants and customer needs while leading project execution in a complex or strategic product domain.
You will be a member of our diverse Global Design Organization where we use our design and research skills to inspire and influence across the company. We believe that different perspectives and backgrounds inside our team lead to innovation and inclusion in our product design. At PayPal, Product Designers influence teams to make customer-centric decisions across the product development lifecycle. This includes drawing on data and research to inform design concepts and decision making. We start with asking the right questions and end with optimized deliverables that drive valuable outcomes for our customers and business. Our designers are great storytellers, active listeners, technology enthusiasts and experts of their craft.
Your Day to Day
Independently partner with cross-functional team members in the conceptualization, and delivery of our customer-focused and business impactful products and features
Create high-quality interaction design to improve ease of use, discoverability and comprehension, while being able to meet requirements, timelines and tell the story of the work
Leverage and extend the use of established design system, style guide, patterns and assets in the creation of UX analysis, solutions, and deliverables
Actively contribute to the wider UX community, possibly mentoring and developing others, leveraging your strengths to help others grow
Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in enterprise-level design. Apply this knowledge to continuously improve our design processes and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Develop a deep understanding of our target segments (businesses and buyers), their pain points and goals. Translate these insights into effective design strategies that align with our overall product vision.
What You Need to Bring
Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years or Master's degree with 4-5 years of experience in design, research, or related fields. Experience across platforms, mobile apps, financial services expertise an advantage.
Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing your expertise in user-centered design, interaction design, and visual design. Highlight your experience with complex, data-rich applications and your ability to simplify complex workflows.
Design Tools: Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma and Miro. Experience with prototyping tools and design systems is also required.
Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate design decisions and advocate for user-centered design principles.
Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex problems to create elegant design solutions. Comfortable working with data and conducting user research to inform design decisions.
Business Understanding: Familiarity with small business challenges, enterprise software, and global markets. Understanding the needs and behaviors of small business owners is a plus.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading design initiatives, mentoring junior designers, and driving design excellence within an organization.
