The Role:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk 2 is responsible for managing and supporting all outbound shipping activities related to module shipments, loose-ship products, and international orders for the Rockford Distribution Center. This role ensures shipments are planned, processed, documented, and executed accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with company policy, customer requirements, and international export regulations. The coordinator serves as a key liaison between Shipping, Production, Customer Service, Engineering, Carriers, and the Global Trade team to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Coordinate daily outbound shipments, including full modules, partial modules, loose-ship items, and international freight.

  • Review, verify, and maintain accurate shipment documentation, including packing slips, commercial invoices, bills of lading, and export declarations.

  • Partner with Global Trade Compliance to ensure export-controlled and hazardous shipments meet SAP/GTS and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor module and loose-ship queues to prevent delays; proactively resolve issues with Customer Service and Production teams.

  • Manage special shipment requests such as hot orders, repacks, re-crates, priority loads, and carrier-specific requirements.

  • Track, investigate, and resolve shipment discrepancies, damages, and freight claims; coordinate corrective actions as needed.

  • Maintain accurate SAP records for shipment creation, PGI, export blocks, and return processing.

  • Communicate shipment status, risks, and exceptions to internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

  • Support inventory accuracy across shipping storage locations, staging areas, and module lanes.

  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements related to documentation flow, carrier performance, pickup scheduling, and export readiness.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for module flow, loose-ship processes, and international shipping within the distribution center.

  • Assist with training Shipping Clerks, Material Handlers, and new team members on shipment workflows and SAP transactions.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  •  3+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, shipping, or warehouse operations.

  • Working knowledge of SAP, including PGI, delivery creation, billing blocks, and export processes (preferred).

  • Familiarity with international shipping documentation such as commercial invoices, HTS codes, and ECCN classifications (a plus).

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with module-based assembly or multi-component shipments.

  • Familiarity with Global Trade Services (GTS) or export compliance processes.

  • Ability to interpret and execute customer-specific shipping requirements.

  • Experience conducting logistics root cause analysis and driving process improvements.

The estimated pay range for this position is $25/hr. to $27/hr.. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
