A Day in the Life

Medtronic is looking for a Senior IT Technologist to join our team. If you are passionate about health care and innovation, and you have a demonstrated ability to manage the cloud production environments– we would like to meet you. This is a full-time, hybrid, position located in Northern Israel, Yokneam.

Who are we? Medtronic is a medical device company. Among our many innovative products is The PillCam™ system, an innovative solution that enables efficient visualization of the Gastrointestinal.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Plan, deploy, upgrade and maintain staging and production environments
  • Monitor and plan capacity and scaling activities as the system expands
  • Collaborate with R&D and DevOps teams to investigate and troubleshoot cloud related issues
  • Schedule and direct activities to resolve cloud, and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Collaborate with global Medtronic security teams to maintain strict security policies
  • Responsibility for Incident Management and Response
  • Opportunity for building new and innovative automation of maintenance processes
  • Drive a continuous improvement environment 
  • Flexibility to respond during irregular working hours and weekends if required 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • An academic degree
  • Broad knowledge of AWS services- EKS, EC2, S3, IoT, RabbitMQ, WAF, IAM
  • Knowledge of containerized applications and services
  • Broad knowledge of Infrastructure As Code and CI/CD tools- Git, Terraform, Terragrunt, ArgoCD
  • Broad knowledge of web applications and technologies
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Operating systems
  • Familiar with monitoring tools- Dynatrace, Datadog, CloudWatch
  • Experience with service monitoring, user experience recording and SLA and KPI measurement and analysis
  • Strong follow-through and initiative to stay with issues until they are resolved, along with discipline and tenacity to meet deadlines
  • Cloud security knowledge
  • Data privacy knowledge
