Overview of the Position

The Auto and Property Claim Performance Analytics group is seeking a Claims Process Analyst to support operational analytics. As a member of this team, this person will own the measurement and monitoring of key claim processes, identify root causes of performance variation, and drive continuous improvement within property claims. Strong communication and relationship building skills are essential as this role interacts with a wide variety of Hartford teammates at all levels. The individual will partner with teammates in Claim Performance Analytics, Claim Data Office, Field Leadership & Operations, Claim Vendor Management and other key stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities to optimize claim processes and associated practices. 

  

Responsibilities:

  • Understand end to end performance of critical Property Claims processes and sub-processes with a focus on Estimating activities within PL & CL, PMC and CCO.

  • Evaluate process metrics to identify performance variation and actively participate in the cross-functional team to identify root causes.

  • Measure the impact of improvement and provide recommendations to claim field leadership on relative priority to support data decision making.

  • Participates in cross functional design teams on prioritized opportunities.

  • Clearly communicates the notable trends to claim senior leadership monthly.

  • Recommend changes to KPIs and metrics as needed to drive change management and adoption.

  • Monitors impact of deployed process changes to validate solution effectiveness.

  • Anticipate and monitor for potential unintended, indirect impacts of process change and operational stress.

  • Work closely with property vendors and the vendor management team to evaluate 3rd party and Industry performance.

Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Property claim experience is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated strong data analytics, problem solving, customer focus and change management skills.

  • Strong process/continuous improvement skills (i.e.: Lean/Six Sigma) are a plus.

  • Clear understanding of agile methodologies.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to tailor story to different audiences is essential.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships across various orgs and levels.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, and to set priorities and plans to meet business goals and objectives.

  • Ability to lead without having formal authority and to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing trends (operational, industry, and technological).

  • Strong attention to customer needs and capability to translate into actionable solutions.

  • Documented track record of creating innovative data solutions; passion for delivering outcomes.

  • Excel experience required; Tableau and Rally experience preferred but not required.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$87,760 - $131,640
