Position Overview
The Senior Buyer is responsible for the strategic and operational ownership of the procurement lifecycle for critical commodities. This role demands a high-level of accountability in managing supplier performance, leading a professional team, and ensuring supply chain synchronization to support our local service center and global delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Procurement & P2P Ownership: Lead the end-to-end PR-to-Pay lifecycle for critical commodities (Imports, Intercompany, Fasteners, Interco, Tubes, Fittings, Bar stock, etc.), ensuring all POs strictly adhere to Lead Time (LT) guidelines.
- Supply Chain Synchronization: Facilitate critical alignment between Planning and Suppliers by securing Order Acknowledgments and maintaining real-time ERP data integrity to reflect accurate delivery timelines.
- Performance & KPI Accountability: Drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) excellence across external and intercompany networks, remaining directly accountable for meeting and exceeding established supplier KPI targets.
- Logistics & Inbound Streamlining: Orchestrate seamless inwarding operations by coordinating closely with logistics for timely pickups and proactively resolving complex import bottlenecks and contractual delivery issues.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Systematically monitor and improve supplier performance through strategic interventions and cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality and reliability.
- Compliance & Financial Integrity: Maintain system documentation in rigorous alignment with ISO and EMS standards while managing the swift resolution of invoice discrepancies to ensure healthy financial workflows.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Educational Background: BE in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of progressive experience, preferably within the Valves, Pumps, Compressor or Turbine industries.
- Domain Expertise: Advanced mastery of Direct Procurement and Bought-out Commodities, with a comprehensive understanding of the full P2P cycle.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of 2–3 members to achieve operational excellence.
- Functional Proficiency: Deep understanding of Supply Chain Management (SCM), including supplier development, quality assurance, and global logistics.
- Technical Systems: Highly proficient in ERP systems, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in Oracle.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional English fluency with the professional gravitas to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
