GENERAL FUNCTION: The Regional Marketing Manager will have a leadership role in developing and implementing a strategic event marketing plan for purposes of building relationships with prospects and deepening engagements with current customers. S/he also will be responsible for communications, reputation management and public relations strategy for the region. Provides communications counsel and leadership to the Regional President and business while serving as a strategic resource and lead producer for the Regions served. "Events" can include thought leadership/educational events, customer entertainment events, webinars, and tradeshow style engagements.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

This position reports to the Regional President.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for creating and executing regional marketing events to move the culture
  • Work with Regional Leadership to build the annual event calendar/plan with specified goals (attendance, lead generation, and revenue).
  • Coordinate details for events including venues, speakers, presentations, invitations, registration, post-event evaluations and communications.
  • Attend events and provide onsite support as necessary. Leads local public relations and media outreach efforts.
  • Ensures investments directly or indirectly drive business and positive reputation for the region, and that the brand is protected.
  • Leads effort to effectively enhance reputation and brand message in the local market.
  • Facilitates External Communication efforts, including writing speeches or key messages for Regional President/Senior leadership team, speaking with media or counseling Regional President/LOBs on best practices, and working with Corporate Communications.
  • Leads local implementation of marketing programs to support Region strategies and initiatives.
  • Execute customer-centric programs that will benefit One Bank strategy.
  • Provides regional input and competitive intelligence on key Marketing decisions aligning to priorities and resources; and coordinates efforts with corporate LOB marketing managers.
  • Interacts directly with Regional President and senior leadership team to address or act upon opportunities and risks.
  • Work collaboratively with center or excellence partners including the Brand and Advertising team, Digital Marketing, Social Media, and the Regional Communications Team.
  • Accountable for managing marketing budget spend and forecasting accuracy, as well as tracking and reporting ROI.
  • Responsible for event marketing and ROI, including client education, seminars, and sponsorships.
  • Supports community outreach efforts and is part of leadership team (or leads overall) the donations and sponsorship process and commitments.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding local sponsorships, in collaboration with corporate marketing.
  • Negotiates contract terms related to local sponsorships, in partnership with corporate marketing, and adhering to the sponsorship approval process.
  • Facilitates Internal Communications efforts, including both regularly scheduled Bancorp communications, all-employee and Regional President communication.
  • Partners with Community & Economic Development (CED) team on the development and execution of the Community and Reinvestment Act (CRA) Market Execution Plan, driving to an outstanding rating.
  • Support grass-root, community outreach programs including LIFE programs, working in conjunction with CED.
  • Work to receive necessary approvals through Corporate Marketing, Legal teams and ConceptShare.
  • Ensure adherence to Bancorp and line of business polices/procedures as the first line of defense.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, business or related field required. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in public relations or marketing
  • Prior experience in public and media relations/corporate communications required.
  • Prior experience in marketing strategy and budget management.
  • Prior experience in financial/banking industry is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to collaborate.
  • Knowledge of the practices and current issues of the industry preferred.
  • Minimal travel required.

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
