Job Responsibilities:

About the Role

As a Core Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for BoM cost development and sourcing execution of our platform projects. You will work close to your dedicated product area and participate in project meetings, and be the project’s interface to purchasing. You will also be responsible for purchasing inputs in customer RFQs within your dedicated product area. In this role you will be part of a global team of Core Buyers. For the sourcing activities you will be part of a sourcing team together with the Category team, Component Development and Supplier Quality.

Your Responsibilities

• Generates, distributes and follows up on all RFQ’s, as per the Global Purchasing Procedure for the regional commodities.

• Supports quote process for customer RFQ’s and works with strategic Purchasing at the early stages of program definition.

• Evaluates/consolidates all quotes received from Category Managers for strategic commodities.

• Supports quote reviews as required.

• Prepares and presents all Quote documents per guidelines.

• Supports Program Buyer for platform project development.

• Communicates the necessary information to Program Buyer to assist in decision making and strategy formulation.

• Supports sourcing decision processes.

• Creates/Maintains the Platform Price Libraries.

• Supports development of a strategic supply chain with commodity teams.

• Assists in analysis of new trends in technology and the market with commodity teams.

• Participates and supports quote & engineering team meetings during quote phase, where applicable and forwards status and open issues to relevant purchasing team members.

• Tracks the cost model for purchased components and materials, as applicable, for pre-development programs.

• Maintains supplier relationships that are both productive and mutually beneficial while continually searching for and renegotiating cost savings on new sourcing opportunities, with current and / or new suppliers.

• Works cooperatively with peers to implement consistent policies, procedures, strategies and reporting.

• Participates in continuous improvement efforts for products, tools, processes and programs.

• Performs other duties as necessary in support of platform objectives

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a self going and experienced Senior Buyer, preferably with automotive experience. The ideal candidate is use to coordinate parallel activites, has strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and has a strategic mindset.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related. Experience

• 5+ years of applicable experience preferred, preferably in automotive electronics Your preferred qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills are critical

• Interpersonal skills • Proficiency in excel required

• Knowledge of MRP systems (JDE) is beneficial.
