SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER
COMPANY & ROLE HILIGHTS
Fresenius Medical Care, worldwide multinational company leader in the production of dialysis machinery and in the delivery of services for the treatment of renal insufficiency, is looking for a Senior Product Designer for the Digital Services and Solutions team.

The required profile will report to the Director of User Experience – Digital Services and Solutions.

The position is based in everywhere Italy, with an Italian contract and 100% of remote working.

The Senior Product Designer is responsible for creating new product user experiences and enchantment of existing portfolio for variety of web and mobile projects including embedded software on medical devices. This includes mockups, interactive prototypes, service blueprints, user journey, process flowcharts, user scenarios and other UX activities relevant to the product design. This role demands gaining deep domain knowledge and product expertise to create seamless user experience.

You will closely collaborate with cross functional teams, build relationships, and evangelize User Experience as well as user-centric design approach to the product development across the entire organization.

The Senior Product Designer will also ensure all designs support business objectives and meet project timelines and cross-vertical dependencies.

A successful candidate will closely collaborate with product owners, engineers, project managers, product owners, other product and UX designers as well as other stakeholders in an agile environment.


CRITICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with various stakeholders to deliver web, mobile, touch screen including embedded software on medical devices experiences while supporting the overall roadmap strategy and ensure positive impact to Fresenius patients and healthcare providers.

  • Help defining project requirements and develop user-centered design solutions to build best-in-class products and delight our customers.

  • Design and execute generative and evaluative user research activities relevant for maturity of each project in accordance with the best User Experience practices.

  • Triangulate and synthesize data from verity of data sources to develop comprehensive understanding of our users and their workflows.

  • Collaborate with Human Factors Engineering team on conducting formative usability studies.

  • Create service blueprints, user journeys, mood and story boards, prototypes, and wireframes.

  • Apply system and holistic thinking to designing across multiple products and verticals, empathize with users, understand business goals to create compelling and effective user experiences.

  • Collaborate in preparation of documentation for embedded software on medical device including design history.

  • Manage overall client communications related to the execution of a project.

  • Incorporate data-informed thinking into your design process.

  • Serve as a Human Centered Design and User Experience ambassador across entire organization.

  • Conduct and participate in design reviews and feedback sessions.

  • Mentor and coach junior designers.

  • Stakeholder management.

  • Possess solid understanding of UX processes, tools, and templates.

  • Stay informed and updated with the latest UX trends and industry standards.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
     

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Human fields, Industrial/Product Design, Cognitive/Experimental/ Behavioral Psychology, Anthropology, or related fields (or equivalent professional experience).

  • 5+ years’ experience in Product Design for large-scale enterprise solutions.

  • Experience designing for medical devices or other highly complex cross-platform enterprise solutions.

  • A proven track record of shipping large scale enterprise products.

  • Experience with Mobile Applications / Native Apps.

  • High-level practical understanding of UI front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, Angular, React, Java Script) is a plus.

  • Experience designing user interfaces for a variety of medium (desktop, touch screen, mobile, embedded software, etc.) and different platforms (Android, iOS, etc.).

  • Standardizing and simplifying feature sets and requirements across multiple platforms.

  • Designing user-centered, task-based user stories and UX tasks.

  • Knowledge of FDA and ISO Human Factors guidelines for the development of medical devices strongly preferred.

  • High level technical knowledge in development methodologies, design, and project implementation.

  • Making complex problems and workflows feel simple and approachable.

  • Be able to recognize and distinguish value-add, strategic activities verses “busy work.”

  • Persuasive storytelling and influence.

  • Working knowledge Figma
