Job Purpose
Supervision of a team of underwriters which include monitoring and distribution of workloads and review of referrals to ensure that service levels are met. Appraisal and settlement of cases up to authority limit following company procedures and guidelines. Appraisal of claims cases up to authority limit following company procedures and guidelines. Participation in activities to complete operation plans and company initiatives.
Major Accountabilities
Hires, trains, supervises, and develops skills of underwriters to meet the department’s objectives; recommends promotions; administers first level disciplinary action and recommends further action, if necessary. Assesses the degree of risk presented by the proposed insured and the owner following company procedures and guidelines. Provides second opinion to cases referred by lower level underwriters. Conducts Annual audit of lower level underwriters within schedule. Approves cancellation of policies and refund check requests up to approval authority limit. Conducts Information Enrichment Series (IES) to Advisors/Agents/BSOs Timely review and update sharepoints : UW on Hold Contracts, Re-triggers, Oldest cases, High risk, and HNW Update of UW processes for Centralized Knowledge DB Collaboration and Timely Reply to Claims and Client Care referrals
