A Brief Overview
The Configuration Engineer is a key member of the Digital Workplace team responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing management of enterprise endpoint configuration platforms. This role focuses on managing and modernizing device management using Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and Microsoft Intune, while maintaining a working knowledge of Jamf for Apple device support.
This position plays a critical role in delivering a secure, automated, and scalable end-user computing environment across Windows and macOS platforms.
What you will do
Design, deploy, and manage endpoint configurations across SCCM (MECM) and Microsoft Intune
Build, maintain, and optimize workstation base images (OS, drivers, and core applications)
Create and manage application packaging, deployment, and update strategies across platforms
Coordinate and deploy applications ensuring all devices receive the updates based on the active users in the system
Develop and implement configuration baselines, compliance policies, and security standards
Leverage scripting (PowerShell) and automation tools to streamline endpoint management
Monitor environment health and generate reports on compliance, patching, and system performance
Collaborate with other teams and vendors to develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements, Documentation
Ensure project completion by assessing and engaging additional support teams including but not limited to internal areas as well as 3rd Parties
Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials where needed
Provide after hours support as needed
Performs other duties as assigned

What You Will Need
Bachelor's Degree bachelors degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience, preferred
4-6 of experience in endpoint configuration engineering (SCCM/InTune focused)
4-6 years experience providing application support in complex business environments, including a mix of SaaS, Hybrid and On-premise installations Required
1-3 years experience working in business critical environments Required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (High proficiency)
Proven troubleshooting abilities (High proficiency)
Passion for investigating and solving customer problems, using advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills / toolsets (High proficiency)

Ability to administer JAMF Pro Cloud Server for the management and deployment of applications to all Apple devices (Medium proficiency)
Experience provisioning and supporting virtual desktops (Low proficiency)
Ability to administer and troubleshoot Microsoft workplace applications (High proficiency)
Basic understanding of certificates and certificates issued by authorities (Medium proficiency)
Familiarity with ITSM systems like ServiceNow or others (Low proficiency)
A solid understanding of PowerShell, SQL, and other basic scripting and query languages (High proficiency)· Experience with Qualys Platform (High proficiency)

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235). You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs. #LI-Onsite #LI-JR2
