Your Role: EEM Operations Director, ASEAN

As the Operations Director, you will lead day-to-day operations across ASEAN to deliver EEM APAC’s business, supply, and financial commitments. You will drive operational excellence across purchasing, planning, manufacturing, distribution, and import activities. In this role, you’ll oversee contract manufacturers, strengthen supply continuity, and lead productivity and process-improvement initiatives across the region.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead ASEAN operations to deliver business plan, financial targets, and supply objectives

  • Manage end-to-end product supply from ASEAN to local and regional markets

  • Drive productivity, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives

  • Oversee contract manufacturers, ensuring compliance, performance, and supply continuity

  • Develop and lead the ASEAN Operations team, fostering a culture of excellence

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary or a related scientific/technical field.

  • Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, PMP, APICS, GMP) preferred.

  • Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in external manufacturing, contract manufacturing operations, supply chain management, or quality assurance within the pharmaceutical, animal health, or a similarly regulated industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships and performance of Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).

  • Proven track record of successfully leading operational improvement projects and driving cost efficiencies with external partners.

  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and technology transfer processes in an external manufacturing context.

  • Experience working in an international or multi-cultural environment, particularly within Emerging Markets, is highly desirable.

  • Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise: Strong understanding of contract manufacturing processes, quality systems (GMP), and regulatory requirements.

  • Supply Chain Acumen: Solid knowledge of supply chain principles, production planning, inventory management, and logistics.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Excellent ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and develop practical, data-driven solutions for external manufacturing challenges.

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in local EEM languages (e.g., Thai, Vietnamese, Bahasa) is a plus. Strong negotiation and influencing skills to manage external partners effectively.

  • Interpersonal & Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with CMOs and internal stakeholders.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP), supply chain planning software, and quality management systems is a plus.

  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to connect external manufacturing operational details with broader business strategies and objectives.What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Travel: ~20–30%

  • Location: Thailand - ASEAN (with collaboration across EEM APAC and global teams)
