Purpose
The Aircraft Technician/Flight Engineer reports to the Director of Aviation Maintenance and is responsible for maintaining and occasionally flying on corporate aircraft during international travel. While at the home base, the Aircraft Technician will perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, launch/recovery support, and proper documentation of company aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturers' specifications and maintenance programs, and company standard operating procedures. While away from home base the technician will provide technical expertise during in-flight and AOG situations, along with tending to the comfort and safety needs of passengers while conducting appropriate cabin management practices. This role will be a dynamic position to ensure the utmost quality of aircraft maintenance while creating a optimistic and inclusive working environment.
Responsibilities
Perform regular maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, engine and taxi runs conform to the standards established by FAA regulations, company standards, and industry best practices
Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and off hours as determined by the flight schedule - Ability to improve aircraft dispatch reliability and operational availability through the role of Flight Engineer during international travel.
Ability to switch from several different aircraft and troubleshooting issues in a timely manner while working with the flight crew to maintain a rigorous company flight schedule.
Act as passenger service provider and safety coordinator. Requires training in evacuation procedures, medical aid, passenger service, and food handling procedures. Ensure cabin configuration and associated management functions are performed in accordance with Departmental policies and procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
Oversee outside work performed by contract maintenance facilities is accomplished and properly documented in accordance with FAA and WPA department requirements.
Assist in maintaining the company owned aircraft hangar and assist with ordering parts including shipping and receiving.
Qualifications
FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required
2+ years of aviation maintenance/avionics experience
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in time-sensitive manor
Coordinate in AOG situations of all company aircraft and different MROs
Have a thorough understanding of aircraft avionics/electrical/computer systems
Demonstrate a professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
Be effective in communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Proficiency with the use of technology and computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office and related business applications
Pursuing on-going technical training and remain alert of industry standards and advancements through networking, conferences, and seminars
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors in Aviation related field of study
IA - Inspections Authorization from the FAA
Corporate/Business Aviation experience – Gulfstream, Embraer, Pilatus, Bombardier, Falcon, Cessna
Avionics background/training
