The role

Within our Marine Site Characterisation (MSC) Business Line we are looking for an experienced Senior Contract Manager to support our regional team of Project Managers.  In this role you will both strategically manage contracts on projects of high complexity and mentor project teams with the management of contracts of lower complexity. You will participate in regional strategy development regarding contract management and support project teams in a client facing role.  Other responsibilities will include providing contractual leadership and support to project managers and project teams, the identification and efficient management of contract risks and opportunities, limiting of project leakage, maximising the upside by ensuring contractual entitlements are realised, and identified. You will be monitoring projects for compliance with contractual terms including contract milestones and invoicing; managing the contract commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring that these are identified in the project risk register, and actively overseeing projects for changes. You will monitor projects for leakage events, participate in contract leakage root cause analysis and maintain a contract leakage lessons learnt register.  You will also provide support with project procurement contracts, third-party contracts, and project contract flow-down. Other responsibilities will include managing contract disputes, claims and variation orders in collaboration with project management, business management and Legal Counsel.

Who we’re looking for:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline e.g., Legal/Contracting, plus demonstratable experience in Project/Commercial/Contract Management.
  • Extensive experience with Marine/Civil Engineering, or Ground Investigation Contracting Projects.
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of contractual terms & conditions, contract law principles, project finance and accounting.
  • You have the ability to review contract documents identifying and managing commercial risk and opportunity.
  • Previous experience with tender and procurement processes and a strong commercial and business acumen with strategic thinking.
  • Strong relationship building skills and are client focused with excellent ethical conduct.
  • You are proficient in English (both oral and written) and have excellent professional communication skills and a systematic approach with a competitive attitude.
