The Red Hat CNV DevOps team is looking for an intern interested in DevOps, automation, and cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will work closely with engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelines, support test infrastructure, and contribute to automation workflows. You will assist in troubleshooting infrastructure issues, maintaining test jobs, and improving monitoring solutions. This internship will provide a unique opportunity to develop skills in pipelines, automation, cloud environments, cluster management and quality engineering while contributing to real-world software development and deployment processes.

At Red Hat, you’ll work in an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, values great ideas, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully. Freedom and courage are two of our core values — which means you’ll have the space to take risks, explore the unknown, and grow your strengths. But being a Red Hatter is not just about bravery; it’s also about commitment and follow-through.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is February 1st.

What you will do:

  • Assist in managing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to ensure stable test infrastructure.

  • Work on automating workflows using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve test environment issues to maintain continuous operations.

  • Contribute to monitoring and observability efforts using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

  • Collaborate with component teams to review and refine automated test jobs.

  • Support infrastructure needs and help coordinate resource allocation.

  • Document and improve internal processes for DevOps best practices.

What you will bring:

  • You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor’s 3rd/4th year or Master’s) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.

  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Containerization.

  • Basic experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and container technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker).

  • Interest in automation, observability, and quality engineering.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana

  • Experience with Linux-based environments and system administration

  • Some exposure to open-source projects or contributions.
