Role Definition

As a Senior Human Resources Manager in our Earthmoving Division (EMD), you’ll help our People Team innovate, create and embed tailored services and solutions in support of our business and talent priorities.
This role, located in Caterpillar Qingzhou Ltd, has human resource leadership for Earthmoving's China manufacturing facilities in Caterpillar Qingzhou Ltd (CQL) and Caterpillar Paving Products Xuzhou (CPPX).



What You Will Do:

  • Partner closely with CQL and CPPX facility leadership on the strategic department culture and employee relations needs.

  • Lead strategic workforce planning focusing on skill identification, succession planning and footprint management.

  • Lead strategic HR projects related to culture, employee engagement, talent pipeline and other key focus areas

  • Collaborate with management as a strategic advisor helping identify and prioritize HR initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

  • Aligning HR policies and programs for their business unit or region which promote employee engagement, retention, and performance.

  • Acting as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, compensation, and benefits, etc.

  • Analyzing HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities and develop a story to provide data-driven recommendations to senior management.

  • Leading team of HR professionals to collaborate effectively with other Centers of Excellence and serve as thought leaders to the business and HR.

  • Provide direction regarding interpretation and application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as international laws and governmental regulations

  • Coach and counsel leaders and employees

  • Work with global HR partners and process owners

  • Conduct internal investigations

  • Assist with hiring, training, and safety-related initiatives

What You Have:

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Human Resources Consulting: Knowledge of HR approaches, tools and techniques; ability to inform, guide and advise managers in HR-related initiatives.

  • Talent Management : Knowledge of how an organization attracts, recruits, retains, identifies and develops talent; ability to develop the talent required for an organization to achieve its short-term and long-term goals.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Experience with analysis and reporting

  • Experience presenting complex themes to audiences at various levels within an organization

  • Outstanding judgment and creative problem-solving skills
