What you will do
Reporting to the Associate Director, FP&A, the position of Finance Manager, FP&A, is responsible for all aspects of Business Planning to ensure delivery of organizational expectations for the Building Solutions North America (BSNA) Business Unit of Johnson Controls.


It is expected that the candidate will work closely with business unit and corporate management to consolidate and analyze monthly outlooks, forecasts and plans, analyze monthly financial results and establish & measure key financial targets.

How you will do it

Financial Forecasting and Planning

  • Owns all Business Planning processes and tools involved in completing Monthly forecasts, Annual Profit Plan and Strategic Plan financials

  • Provides insight to the Corporate and BSNA executives with respect to budgets, forecasts, cash flows and executive requests

  • Works with Department leads to establish department budgets and quarterly forecasts for expenses, capital spending, and EBIT expectations


Monthly & Quarterly Financial Reporting

  • Analyzes Johnson Controls financial results and provides analysis and insight to help senior management interpret and understand the financial results

  • Works with Corporate FP&A to prepare the BSNA input for Quarterly Earnings presentations to the Analysts and the accompanying fact sheets

  • Develops and drives the standardization of global business analysis processes (margin analysis bridges, free cash flow reporting, etc.) across BSNA

  • Expected to work with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure forecasted information is understood and communicated monthly to the CFO and other senior management personnel

  • Prepares and provides input for various Corporate requests and presentations


Special Projects

  • Acting in a consulting role, demonstrates understanding of the financial analysis process and applies that knowledge to developing cost effective analyses and recommendations

  • Manages ad-hoc analyses on an independent basis, assuming responsibility for the quality and effectiveness of the studies/analyses

 

 

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required, Master’s degree in Finance is preferred

  • Minimum 6 years of rich experience in Finance and Accounting

  • Strong and broad-based knowledge and skills appropriate for consultation to all levels of management.

  • Sound analytical depth and strong technical accounting skills.

  • The ability to influence and lead in driving change in the organization.

  • Strategic consulting skills which move beyond adherence to specific analytical tools and methodologies; the ability to “think outside the box,” generate alternative solutions for consideration, and provide comprehensive risk/benefit analysis on those alternatives.

  • Project management experience and business consultant skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and advanced presentation skills. Should have ability to listen effectively, evaluate the most critical elements being communicated and communicate with team and Associate Director on an open and timely basis.
