The Opportunity 
 

The Customer Marketing Data Analyst will play a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making for the marketing team. The successful candidate will maintain the customer database and deploys insightful reporting to support product development, category/brand management, user/customer experience, and marketing/sales initiatives. This individual will be responsible for analyzing data from various sources, providing actionable insights, and helping optimize the customer lifecycle journey. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about leveraging data to ensure a best-in-class customer experience.

Successful candidates will have an understanding of the needs and culture of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have the ability to create and execute creative and strategic plans, collaborate well with others, and give and receive focused feedback. They will leverage insights on our communities to drive strategies and plans that pulls consumers into our experiences whether it’s our website or our digital apps.

50% Data Management & Analytics, Visualization, and Reporting: Develop data models, design integrations, and create reports for marketing and executive leadership decisions. This includes:

  • Analyze and interpret data from multiple sources, including website analytics, sales data, and customer behavior, to uncover trends and insights.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization techniques (i.e. Power BI, Tableau), working SQL knowledge and expert ability at leveraging data visualization tools to provide insights.
  • Develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards to track multi-channel sales performance, key metrics, and KPIs (e.g., conversion rate, marketing attribution, customer acquisition cost, campaign ROI, lifetime value).
  • Partner with developers and data architecture teams as a subject matter expert and ambassador in customer data structure, tools, processes, key metrics, and analytic methodologies
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in managing data collection, storage, and processing.

30% Customer Segmentation and Insights: Develop customer profiles and segments to better target marketing efforts.  This includes:

  • Gather demographic data, customer preferences, needs, and buying habits to develop and enhance a complete customer profile.
  • Analyze profile data and purchasing behavior to create customer segments to target customers with the offers, promotions, and content they prefer.
  • Use customer data to increase personalization, relevance, and loyalty—including the use of personalized communications (email, push notifications, etc.).
  • Maintain segmented lists and use marketing automation tools to refresh data

20% Customer Journey Optimization: Collaborate with marketing  and sales teams to identify customer journey opportunities and areas for improvement. 

  • Facilitate multi-touch, multi-channel campaigns aimed at generating customer engagement and acquisition
  • Manage automated workflows, such as Welcome and Unengaged/Re-engage journeys.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies. Provide recommendations for optimizing marketing efforts based on performance data.

 Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, statistics, or closely related field 
  • 2-4 years’ experience in customer data analysis 
  • Ability to perform customer modeling, response analysis, ROI analysis 
  • Strong analytical/statistical skills, research, and report-writing skills 
  • Expert at segmentation and list management and enhancement techniques 
  • Experience in writing queries (SQL statements) involving joins and subqueries of tables
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau
  • Background using Salesforce CRM to create workflows, reports, dashboards, and manage customer data
  • Practical experience with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, WebTrends)
  • Experience with marketing automation software required; Salesforce marketing cloud experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable in consumer contact regulations like GDRP and Right to Be Forgotten
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills 
  • Experience in retail, direct marketing, or advertising
