What You’ll Do

Telstra Consumer - Marketing Chapter Area oversees Telstra's marketing operations, including brand management, advertising, and product marketing.

As the Senior 1-1 Marketing Strategist, you are responsible for the development of 1-1 marketing creative briefs and aligning these to the overarching marketing strategy. You will be confident in distilling insights through various research methods to create compelling strategies and positioning that tie together all 1-1 marketing campaigns.

As pivotal member of our team, you'll lead the development and alignment of strategy and creative briefs in 1-1 marketing. Reporting to the 1-1 & Marketing Automation Chapter Type Lead and collaborating closely with the Head of Creative Excellence, you'll leverage consumer and business insights to craft compelling strategies and positioning for 1-1 marketing initiatives. Your role will also ensure adherence to best practices and uphold marketing excellence through the review and approval of campaign briefs and 1-1 communications via our Visual and Copy Approvals (VCA) process.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Distil and bring to life insights that make for compelling strategies and positioning for 1:1 marketing briefs.
  • Uncover insights through research (both traditional and more innovative approaches) and take the lead on data/business analytics, ethnographic, and other qualitative and quantitve research methods.
  • Stay informed on cultural and category trends and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in 1-1 marketing.
  • Authentically collaborate and build rapport with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure we maintain our brand identity in the market, deliver a cohesive narrative and maximise our economies of scale in the delivery of our marketing campaigns, whilst ensuring adherence to brand policy, guidelines and established business processes.
  • Uphold marketing excellence through the review and approval of campaign briefs and 1-1 communications via our Visual and Copy Approvals (VCA) process.
  • Monitor and evaluate the efficacy of 1-1 marketing work and ensure learning is acted upon in future strategies.
  • Work alongside the Head of Creative Excellence to bring craft into 1-1 Marketing and integrate with the overarching marketing strategy. Through this relationship, there is the possibility of working on some above-the-line (ATL) campaigns.

About You

  • Strong relevant experience in 1:1 Marketing is preferred
  • Solid experience in Strategy Delivery
  • Proficient in generating marketing insights and data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Business Acumen, Business Partnering, and Campaign Execution.
