Summary of Job Duties:
**This position is located in Northwest, AR**
The Biostatistician will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of research at UAMS by providing expert statistical guidance to investigators. Working under the supervision of Biostatistics Faculty or advanced research staff, the Biostatistician will assist with protocol and grant development, data preparation, data analysis, statistical programming, and the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and presentation materials. The Biostatistician will collaborate with investigators across UAMS campuses and maintain relationships with informaticists, database managers, and research administrators. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in statistical methodologies and should be skilled in data analysis and have excellent communication abilities to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful research projects and advance your career in a supportive academic environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field plus one (1) year of related experience.
- Strong background in statistical methods and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in conducting inferential statistical analysis.
- Previous experience in a research or academic setting is preferred.
- Experience collaborating with a research team on research projects, grant proposals, and manuscripts.
- Experience in writing statistical methods and results sections in reports, manuscripts, or grant applications.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, or SPSS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
