Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Network Monitoring Technician 2 – Network Monitoring Analyst (NMA) (24-243) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

The selected candidate will be part of a team that reports to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) and performs daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC network systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment. Provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and perform initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC network hardware and software. The candidate will document and report all events/issues to the CWO and receive tasking and direction from the CCC for all operations, tests, and real-world events. Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in all network hardware/software installations directed by the local SMEs and create and maintain user accounts as directed by the local ISSO.

Basic Qualifications:

  • An active Secret clearance is required to start.
  • 2 years' experience with a High School (or equivalent) degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, network management and monitoring.
  • Management and monitoring tools and techniques for various network infrastructure components and services.
  • Must know about monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytic tools.
  • Virtualization technologies such as VMWare vCenter and vSphere.
  • Practical experience with remote access software such as SSH, RDP, FTP, and SCP.
  • Sound knowledge of OSPF, Cisco IOS, and JUNOS commands and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in Windows Server maintenance.
  • Requires rotating 24x7 shift work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The candidate will be assigned to a 12-hour shift, determined by mission requirements. Some substitute rotation during off-shifts, including nights and weekends, will be required.
  • Actively TS/SCI Preferred.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in the usage of network management tools.
  • Familiarity with encryption devices, specifically TACLANEs.
  • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix Server maintenance.
  • Experience in liaising with other DoD Agencies and associated network operations organizations

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Salary Range: $48,200.00 - $80,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
