Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to lead the design, development, and enhancement of Calypso solutions that support complex trading, risk, and post‑trade workflows across the organization. Being at this role, Developer will work as a technical SME for Calypso, collaborating with business stakeholders or Business Analysts to translate functional needs into scalable technical implementations.

This role also supports platform stability through proactive issue resolution, environment management, and version upgrades of Calypso application.  Calypso Developer role ensures that Calypso remains a reliable, efficient, and strategic platform enabling front‑to‑back trading operations.

Required Experience: 8+ years of experience in Calypso Development

Key Responsibilities :

1. Development & Customization of Calypso Platform

Design, develop, and enhance Calypso modules including workflows, engines, and custom interfaces using Java, Calypso APIs, Event/Engines framework.

Develop customizations across Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office components based on business requirements.

2. API Development and Integration

Build and support interfaces with upstream/downstream systems. Also, develop and maintain integration workflows including trade capture, market data, settlements, risk, and reporting.

3. Trade Processing & Product Coverage

Work on Calypso trade lifecycle modules for derivatives, fixed income, FX/MM, credit, and structured products. Configure and troubleshoot pricing, risk, margining, settlement, and collateral workflows.

4. Issue Analysis, Debugging & Production Support

Lead investigation and resolution of production incidents related to trade booking, settlement, batch failures, and position discrepancies.

Optimize performance of Calypso batch processes, engines, and messaging flows.

5. Configuration, Upgrades & Environment Management

Support Calypso version upgrades, patch deployments, regression testing, and environment migration. Also, maintain configuration of static data, reference data, books, curves, calendars, and legal entities.

6. Collaboration with Business & Technology Teams

Work closely with Traders, Risk, Operations, and Product Control to translate business needs into technical solutions.

7. Project Execution

Own complete delivery of Calypso enhancements: requirements → design → development → testing → deployment. Mentor junior developers, review code, enforce standards, and drive continuous improvement.

8. Documentation & Compliance

Prepare technical specifications, mapping documents, release notes, and support documentation. Also, ensure development meets bank's regulatory, audit, and security standards.
