Job Summary

The Materials Management Analyst will play a crucial role in the effective management of materials, ensuring seamless transitions, launches, and discontinuations of products. This position requires close collaboration with key suppliers, corporate procurement, and internal business units to manage inventory, resolve supply issues, and support new product introductions. The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining accurate reporting, training new team members, and driving value through vendor inventory initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier and Procurement Coordination:

  • Collaborate with key suppliers and corporate procurement to ensure the proper flow of information critical to effective materials management and planning.

  • Support the transition of new products to market, including managing material numbers, transition dates, runout dates, and other related information.

Inventory Management:

  • Manage materials supply and inventory exposure during transitions, launches, and discontinuations for raw materials and semi-finished goods.

  • Build and update runouts weekly, and meet with brand teams to discuss potential write-offs and financial liabilities.

  • Maintain low inventory levels with suppliers during transitions.

Inventory Target Development:

  • Develop raw material inventory targets for key suppliers and plants.

  • Update, track, and report periodically to required business units.

  • Push out deliveries, identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, review MIO safety stock suggestions, and create RIDs for suppliers.

Supply Issue Resolution:

  • Resolve and effectively communicate the impact of supply issues with required business units.

  • Work with plants and suppliers to find resolutions for supply issues, such as planning schedule changes or facilitating the movement of raw materials between plants.

Reporting:

  • Create and submit quarterly Slow Moving/Obsolete Reports and 10Q reports to Ops Finance.

  • Maintain the RID system and update approvers as needed.

  • Manage open RIDs and ensure timely closure.

  • Maintain weekly Dep Req reporting and save reports for future use.

  • Handle Hurricane Reporting during hurricane season, providing insights on material shortages due to storms.

Training and Development:

  • Train new team members and ensure training materials are up-to-date.

  • Act as a Super User for SAP, GDW, and other departmental software.

Vendor Inventory Initiatives:

  • Drive value and develop processes with regard to vendor inventories to support initiatives such as VMI, SMI, and SNC.

  • Attend weekly calls to ensure VMI programs are running smoothly and that suppliers are producing and holding the correct inventory.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business Logistics, or related field

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Procurement, Materials Management, or related discipline

  • Proficient in Microsoft office, Outlook, ERP/P2P systems

  • SAP experience with a focus on MRP is strongly preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including both verbal and written; organized and detail oriented
