Our Downstream Finance team is seeking a new team member who can translate complex information into validated insights and solutions. You'll have the opportunity to influence change while providing performance analysis, stewardship, and business planning to help drive cost and finance process improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 years of relevant experience in the energy industry

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting, economics, or other relevant education

  • Working towards or possess a recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA) with a solid understanding of financial and accounting principles

  • Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with SAP and Microsoft tools

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven success in business partnering outside of finance

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver stewardship reporting, forecasting, business planning cycle and accounting policy decisions

  • Collaborate with business partners regarding all aspects of financial and business performance

  • Synthesize large amounts of detailed information quickly and present to stakeholders

  • Build monthly performance analysis, stewardship reporting, and support for key financial processes

  • Guide the maintenance teams through month-end results, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning

  • Help coach cost centre owners in understanding their role and the use of the financial information and performance metrics

  • Develop an understanding of the overall financial picture, key business drivers, and challenges across the business

  • Identify and participate in performance improvement projects and develop key metrics

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 –6th Ave S.W.

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday

  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
