The Benefits Manager executes health, welfare and retirement benefit strategies and priorities for North America. Manages benefit vendors and contributes to the evaluation of current and potential new vendors for North America. Leads the benefits center of expertise and manages a team that resolves escalated benefits vendor issues and executes required functions of the COE. Partners with other COEs such as Communications, Talent Operations and Talent Technology to ensure appropriate setup of internal systems and education of key groups. Ensures legal compliance of employee benefit programs including reporting and disclosures.

Essential Duties:

Supports the Benefits, Absence & Wellbeing Director by:

  • Operating as part of an integrated Wellbeing & Rewards team in collaboration with compensation, wellbeing, absence, rewards and recognition
  • Becoming established and recognized internally as the benefits subject matter expert
  • Managing the benefit vendors relationships for North American offerings and leverage the internal Vendor Management function
  • Evaluating and making recommendations regarding prospective vendors, services, coverage and options available to determine programs best meeting needs of the organization.
  •  Monitors existing vendor performance and reports deviations from standards.
  • Leading the Benefits COE team and leveraging the team for escalated service issues and health, welfare and retirement plan projects
  • Leveraging third party advisors and strategic problem solving to create scalable, future focused solutions
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders Talent Technology and Talent Operations to prioritize and align benefits project resources.
  • Partnering with Employee Relations and internal and external legal resources to ensure benefit program compliance
  • Partnering with finance and risk management to ensure appropriate cost and risk leverage regarding benefit programs and benefits forecasting
  • Collaborating with Benefits, Absence and Wellbeing director and internal communications resources to ensure effective employee education and placement of benefit communications.
  • Overseeing and ensures successful annual benefits enrollment
  • Possessing strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree - Required
  • MA/MS - Preferred
  • GBA/CEBS/CBP Certification – Preferred (ultimately required to obtain)
  • HIPAA Training - Preferred (ultimately required to obtain)

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Proficient in MS Office - Required
  • Proficient in Workday – Required

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant benefits or related experience required
  • 3-5 yrs. Team management experience
  • 3-5 yrs. Customer Service experience - Required
  • 2-3 yrs. Working in collaborative or team environment

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy during the process of educating, mentoring, and coaching staff and business partners -required
  • Ability to lead, impact, and influence change - required
  • High level of customer engagement skills - required

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $92,600 - $159,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
