Position Purpose: Manage all day to day activities of the Certified Pharmacy Technicians and or shippers and ensure that they are performing the Board defined technician duties under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Ensure all orders are accurately prepared for timely shipment. Oversee inventory. Supervise duties around pump supply and maintenance. Supervise non-clinical operations of free drug program as applicable to site.

  • Ensure compliance with policy and procedures related to mail order prescription, dispensing and processing are completed. Ensure packages are appropriately prepared for timely shipment. Oversee inventory. Supervise pump supplies and maintenance or free drug program as applicable. Support pharmacist-in-charge with ancillary duties and making sure key performance indicators and goals are completed.
  • Develop and implement procedures or programs in assigned areas, such as prescription picking, and inventory efficiency, support preparation of any audits and legal compliance initiatives, pump monitoring, inventory turn management, quality monitoring of team, etc.
  • Evaluate team’s performance, assess training needs and provide applicable training
  • Ensure accurate and timely picking prescription orders in the software systems. Ensure shipping protocols are followed, TATs met, inventory controls are in place, etc.
  • Responsible for meeting all mail order prescription processing deadlines.
  • Investigate and resolve routine patient care questions and issues.
  • Involve or refer patients to Pharmacist for non-routine patient care and/or counseling questions and/or additional information
  • Assist with systems set up to ensure proper dispensing of medications
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred. 4+ years of pharmacy technician experience in mail order prescription facility, hospital pharmacy or retail pharmacy setting. Strong understanding of specialty drug filling/picking, inventory/ordering. Understanding of pump billing and maintenance preferred if applicable to pharmacy site. Understanding of free drug program as applicable to site.

License/Certification: Current state's Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license in good standing with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

AcariaHealth: State pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located (exception being NY where a pharmacy technician license is not required). License is required upon hire.

Pay Range: $54,000.00 - $97,100.00 per year
