Business Analyst – Software Development
We are looking for a new team member for the Business Analyst position at our ABB Operational Center Europe in Ostrava. We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong experience in software development projects, requirements analysis, and Agile methodologies. The role will focus on translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications, collaborating with development teams, supporting system implementations, and ensuring software solutions meet business and user needs.

The ABB Operational Center Europe in Ostrava is part of ABB's Process Automation Division, delivering engineering services for units across Europe and employing over 800 people. It also includes a supply chain management center.

What You Will Do
- Gather and analyze software requirements from stakeholders, business users, and technical teams.
- Document business logic, data requirements, and system integrations for software projects.
- Create and maintain detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria following Agile principles.
- Develop functional specifications and requirements documentation for software development teams.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and refinement sessions.
- Collaborate closely with software developers and QA testers
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure software solutions align with business objectives.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience with business analysis in software development projects (minimum 3+ years)
- Strong proficiency in writing user stories, functional specifications, and technical requirements
- Proficiency in creating diagrams, process flows, wireframes
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and sprint-based development
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Independence, attention to detail, and a systematic approach
- Fluent English (essential for working with international teams)
Advantageous:
- Experience with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps
- Basic knowledge of software architecture, APIs, or database concepts
- Familiarity with testing methodologies and UAT processes
Experience in leading projects and managing business opportunities
Experience with process mapping and data modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
- Experience with design tools like Figma
