About the Role
Provision of imaging services to the patients of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and St Vincent’s Private Hospital, demonstrating leadership and specialist knowledge in the areas of Angiography.

• Fulfil clinical duties in all modalities within the Angiography modalities, including theatre imaging, Fluoroscopy, Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories, single-plane DSA, and bi-plane DSA, including advanced procedures.
• Demonstrate an extensive level of technical ability, knowledge and experience in a broad range of diagnostic examinations within Angiography.
• Participate in an in-hours and out-of-hours roster across all Angiography shifts, including on-call.
• Ability to contribute effectively as a participative team member within a multidisciplinary team environment, promoting a positive and supportive culture.
• Supervise an area of the department, working in collaboration with other members of the senior DSA team.

Classifications for this position will range from AT6-AT9 ($104,135 - $118,981 per annum).

Your Contribution

• Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation or equivalent.
• AHPRA registration.

About Medical Imaging
St Vincent’s Medical Imaging (MI) provides four comprehensive diagnostic imaging programs across four campus sites.

St. Vincent’s Medical Imaging Department (MID) is a tertiary imaging department providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services to SVHM’s inpatients and outpatients. 

Diagnostic and Interventional Angiography services across St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne include single and bi-plane Angiography, Fluoroscopy, Cardiac Catheterisation Angiography and theatre imaging.

St. Vincent’s Medical Imaging Department (MID) is a tertiary imaging department providing  a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services to SVHM’s inpatients and outpatients. 

St Vincent’s Medical Imaging (MI) provides four comprehensive diagnostic imaging programs across four campus sites:

• Medical Imaging Department (MID)
• St Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR)- Basement & East Tower
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging Centre (MRI)
• Positron Emission Tomography Centre (PET)

The department provides 150,000+ image guided therapies yearly across campus to support and facilitate the quaternary services provided by SVHM. All diagnostic modalities are offered, including PET/CT, which is fully integrated into the Medical Imaging Department. Interventional services include general and vascular procedures and interventional neuroradiology. Similarly, diagnostic imaging and procedural interventions are provided to the state based Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma service, Cardiac Catheter Labs, Vascular Labs and Operating Suites.

St. Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR) is a comprehensive private radiology service, operating out of two locations within the Fitzroy campus. SVPR provides imaging services to St. Vincent Private Hospital, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and private outpatients, including diagnostic imaging and procedural examinations.

Provision of imaging services to the patients of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and St Vincent’s Private Hospital, demonstrating leadership and specialist knowledge in the areas of Angiography.

This position will participate in the service delivery and management of the DSA suites (bi-plane and single-plane), Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories and Operating Theatre suites.

As a senior clinician, this position will perform duties across the clinical and education areas of expertise.

POSITION DUTIES

• Fulfil clinical duties in all modalities within the Angiography modalities, including theatre imaging, Fluoroscopy, Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories, single-plane DSA, and bi-plane DSA, including advanced procedures.
• Demonstrate an extensive level of technical ability, knowledge and experience in a broad range of diagnostic examinations within Angiography.
• Produce quality imaging examinations in a safe environment, demonstrating clinical excellence.
• Actively participate in stock management and administrative processes within DSA.
• Participate in an in-hours and out-of-hours roster across all Angiography shifts, including on-call.
• Ability to contribute effectively as a participative team member within a multidisciplinary team environment, promoting a positive and supportive culture.
• Supervise an area of the department, working in collaboration with other members of the senior DSA team.
• Provide clinical supervision and training to Grade 1 and Grade 2 employees.
• Provide education to staff from other professions as appropriate.
• Teach under-graduate students, post-graduate students and/ or interns, primarily in a clinical setting.
• Assist in staff orientation, the development and execution of training programs within the Angiography modalities.
• In conjunction with other modality seniors, actively engage in the performance development program for staff, providing constructive feedback and supporting development goals and learning across the team. 
• Participate in quality improvement activities, quality assurance and accreditation preparation within Medical Imaging.
• Assist in the production of documentation, and education/ training materials within these modalities. 
• Assist with administrative tasks, including development and maintenance of policies and procedures, protocols and audits.
• To ensure a level of patient care so that the patient’s comfort, dignity and safety are maintained at all times.

• Demonstrate safety in the workplace and as per SVHM policies, including radiation and MRI safety, so that a safe environment is maintained for patients, staff, students and visitors.

• Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation or equivalent.
• AHPRA registration.
• Victorian Radiation use licence or eligibility to hold a licence.

• Demonstrated extensive or advanced clinical competency in Angiography modalities. 
• Demonstrated leadership skills, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
• Prior experience in the supervision of undergraduate radiography students.
• Prior experience in clinical supervision, including training and/ or teaching.
• Demonstration of organisational skills, particularly with respect to time management and delegation.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal and team work skills.
• Demonstrate an ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
