The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform Architecture Senior Manager to join the team in either Seattle, WA; Chicago, IL; El Segundo, CA; Hazelwood, MO; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; or Plano, TX.
Boeing is transforming its business and adopting a data centric culture and modernizing its suite of applications. This position will drive the transformation by collaborating and working closely with businesses, functions, Application Architects, Supplier Architects/Developers, Cloud Vendor Architects, and Information Technology (IT) Architects such as Security. The Architecture manager will be leading the team of Data and Cloud Architects/Developers and Supplier Architects/Developers building solutions that include system design, technology selection, solution design, process design, and execution. This position will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other common service functions, interact with the most innovative and diverse people around the globe.
Position Responsibilities:
Defines and builds the strategy for the data and analytics platforms both on prem and cloud and work with the business to ensure all the business requirements are met
Drives simplification and consolidation of our data architecture and data systems – address tech debt, bring stability in critical systems
Builds and develops a resilient foundation for collecting, storing, modelling, and analyzing massive data sets from multiple sources
Leads activities to define requirements, design and verify robust data and cloud architecture for the data and analytics platforms and on prem platforms
Leads the identification of design constraints and ensures architecture conforms to requirements
Ensures architecture functions are incorporated into software development lifecycle and also ensures that the team leads the development and configuration management of architecture views and models
Assesses feasibility of architecture solutions and alternatives and looks at the trends in industry and best practices and world class solutions
Performs trade-off analyses
Evaluates products to assess suitability for integration into delivery system environments
Assesses impact of architectural decisions to product lifecycle
Develops architecture and data/information management standards and strategies
Implements governance structures and frameworks on the platforms including security of the platforms
Coaches and mentors others
This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
10+ years of experience with web application architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) or cloud based development
10+ years of experience in hands-on software development including applications running in AWS, Azure, or GCP
10+ years of experience working with Cloud native development
5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
1+ years of experience with the configuration of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for data ingestion
1+ years of experience with data integration development and maintenance
1+ years of experience in application integration, APIs and Microservices
1+ years of experience with Information Technology architecture including cloud and data architecture in a large-scale, hybrid cloud and on-prem environment
Experience training machine learning models in a cloud computing environment such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, etc. and fundamental knowledge in MLOps
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams
3+ years of experience using planning tools to build roadmaps
Experience leading cloud teams or architecture teams or similar
