The Role: Account Manager (District K12)
As an Account Manager at Hazel Health, you will be responsible for cultivating, managing, and expanding relationships with K-12 partner school districts within your designated territory. Collaborating closely with the customer success team and other internal stakeholders, you will contribute to regional goals and strategies, ensuring our district partnerships are sustainably scaling to meet student healthcare needs.
In this role, you will establish and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at all levels within a district. Acting as the chief strategist, you will lead the team in creating a dynamic experience throughout the life cycle of our K-12 partnerships.
Our ideal candidate will have prior experience in K-12 account management, with a data-driven, goal-oriented approach to achieving account management principles and revenue targets. A proven track record of fostering strong, dynamic relationships is essential.
What You’ll Do:
Partnership Management:
- Lead strategic conversations throughout the year to ensure renewals and partnership expansions are a natural progression of value, including negotiating favorable terms during the renewal process.
- Identify and address barriers or risks that may impact the district's strategic goals.
- Conduct regular check-ins with districts to communicate progress toward goals, analyze data for key trends, and recommend actionable insights to increase opportunities to provide care to more students.
- Partner closely with multiple district departments and other community partners (i.e., Department of Education, etc.) to drive awareness of Hazel Health’s value to student health and academic success.
Strategic Planning and Cross-Collaboration:
- Develop strategic account plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve enrollment, engagement, renewal, and expansion targets, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Conduct quarterly market reviews to guide internal strategy, identify growth opportunities, and monitor customer feedback and competitor activities to spot opportunities and potential risks.
- Work closely with customer success, implementation, marketing, product, analytics, and clinical teams to ensure alignment between district needs and business strategies.
Performance Metrics and Reporting
- Regularly evaluate and report on account health, including usage metrics, satisfaction levels, and overall impact, to strengthen district relationships and drive renewals.
- Collaborate with Analytics and Operations teams to maintain effective data reporting and monitoring systems, preparing and delivering ongoing Partnership Reviews that highlight successes and demonstrate how our products and services help districts achieve their goals.
- Accurately track customer-related activities, communication, market data, and critical issues using a CRM, ensuring all insights are integrated into strategic account planning.
Product and Service Knowledge:
- Stay informed about Hazel Health's products and services to effectively communicate their value to district partners.
- Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to ensure district needs are aligned with the development of new offerings.
What Excites Us:
- K-12 Acumen: You understand the players and hierarchies that exist with K-12 schools and districts, and know how to best leverage that knowledge and relationships to meet team KPIs. Bonus points if you’ve previously worked in schools or district roles before shifting into account management.
- Account Management: You have deep, quantifiable experience in successfully managing relationships within large districts in the K-12 market, and understand market positioning to secure buy-in, collaboration, and loyalty from key players. Bonus points if you’ve managed revenue streams in prior organizations.
- Relationship-Driven: You lead by relating to your stakeholders, be they internal or external; you’ve developed a strong reputation as a people person, and somebody that folks are excited to work with.
- Mission-Alignment: You are inspired by providing equitable access to healthcare by partnering with schools and can serve as an advocate.
- Dynamic Communication: You have exceptional written and verbal skills, and can adeptly tailor and present to a wide-variety of audiences; you’ve got a real knack for influencing your stakeholders.
- Technical Savvy: You are comfortable learning how to use new software programs, and can communicate technical information at various levels of technical understanding.
- Data-Driven: You’re motivated by understanding and interpreting data to drive your decisions - you’ve got proven experience of translating that data into action.
Minimum experience:
- Prior account management or sales experience within K-12 education or in partnership with K-12 education
- Experience with Salesforce, Gainsight, or other CRMs
- Ability to travel for ~25% of the time
Preferred experience:
- Prior experience within start-up or hyper-growth environments
- Existing relationships within the geographies you support (i.e., California, Iowa, etc.)

Total on-target compensation for this role is market competitive, ranging from $100k - $115k. This package consists of both base pay and a performance-based component as an incentive opportunity for those who excel.
