What You’ll Do

As a Silicon Labs Intern working as a Applications Engineer, you will help develop the industry’s leading product applications in IoT while being mentored and closely guided by the best engineers with a vested interest in your success. Our intern projects are designed to help you to grow your skill set while making meaningful contributions to our business. Here are some of the challenges you might get to tackle:    

  • Develop firmware for 32-bit ARM Cortex MCU’s and/or wireless communication protocols 
  • Work with and gain extensive knowledge of software programming tools (IDEs, programmers, debuggers) 
  • Enhance ability to troubleshoot and debug software, electronic systems, circuits, and devices 
  • Actively work with customers to answer technical questions on their design 

Who You Are  
You are an innovator, builder, and tinkerer. You are looking for an opportunity to show off your breadth of skills from several disciplines. You want to work with a global team of technology enthusiasts and design pioneers. 

You’ll need a combination of some (not all) the qualifications listed below.

  • Completion of 2+ years of study 
  • Enrollment in BS/MS/PhD Electrical or Computer Engineering degree plan  
  • Skills: Strong C programming skills
  • Coursework, projects, and/or internship experience: embedded programming, scripting, analog or digital design, and/or participation in MCU, troubleshoot and debug systems, circuits, and devices, interest is IoT wireless technologies, such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and others 
  • Relevant previous employment a plus
  • Extracurricular activities within organizations a plus 

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $76,960 ($37/HR) to $89,440 ($43/HR) USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.  Other components may include a sign on bonus.
