DESCRIPTION
This will be a key role in our company-wide program office that supports the expansion of our shared services offerings to Thermo Fisher businesses. As a Project Lead at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will lead complex, cross-functional projects that advance our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner and safer. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead the execution of transitions, migrations, process improvement, automations, system implementations and other change and transformation programs. Your main focus will be on ensuring the successful delivery of these programs and overseeing project portfolios to meet the set goals. By collaborating with a wide range of partners within and outside of Global Business Services, you will play a crucial role in driving an integrated approach. This position requires someone who can navigate ambiguity, guide teams effectively, and succeed in a matrix environment. Your project management expertise and leadership will be critical in delivering impactful results that support business growth and operational excellence.
 

Major areas of responsibility:

• Coordinate between cross-functional, geographically distributed project teams to achieve desired outcomes.
• Manage interdependencies and support the lead project governance bodies and project workstreams.
• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to guarantee the prompt and excellent execution of programs across various departments and businesses through regular project plan reviews and milestone tracking
• Coordinate the planning and logistics of ideation sessions, feasibility studies, process assessments and design workshops.
• Responsible for delivery of Service Delivery Model for smaller projects by translating customer requirements (As Is State) into the Future State, performing risks & process readiness assessments, or assisting Manager with larger projects
• Assist in the successful execution of complex project plans and timely deliverables.
• Conduct periodic project plan assessments to ensure readiness and quality.
• Lead and implement middle-sized projects or defined areas of major projects.
• Manage project requirements, deliverables and progress throughout the project's lifecycle.
• Implement suitable approaches to ensure timely completion of project deliverables and objectives.
• Identify and handle risks, issues, actions, decisions, and interdependencies.
• Resolve issues and manage critical path processes related to project delivery.
• Gather project information, documents and communicate project status, results, and barriers.
• Own the escalation process in case if critical issues and drive to find mitigation strategies
• Responsible for regular reporting and clear communication of project outcomes.
• Manage and report the project portfolio of a specific business or workstream drives portfolio progress, acts as single source of truth for the overall health and savings pipeline.

Required education/experience:

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably business-related. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• 5+ years of project involvement.
• Experience in Finance operations or Customer Service preferred.
• GBS experience highly desirable.
• Project Management knowledge/certification (PMP, Prince2, Agile) is an advantage.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
