You have a knack for process innovation. You build from scratch, find solutions, and think creatively to enhance team productivity. You possess an ability to perform complex analysis, develop findings and improve operations critical to the Insurance Benefits programs. 

As a Senior Analyst, you will shape Insurance Benefits Billings Operations at Justworks by managing data related to customer risk, revenue, premium, and payroll information. This position will impact the operating procedures of the team by understanding customer and policy data and recommending process changes to ensure customer and compliance. 

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

Day-to-Day Operational Responsibilities 

  • Execute day-to-day operations as part of Justworks Benefits Program
    • Lead the billing and invoice reconciliation for our Benefit Partners, including MDV carriers, commuter benefits, spending accounts, and life and leave accounts to ensure financial records and compliance 
    • Manage and monitor accounting queries to ensure accuracy in our financial systems 
    • Perform periodic reporting, audits, and adjustments in collaboration with cross-functional teams, as needed 

Problem-Solving

  • Identify and resolve errors and pain points in Benefits operations using creative technical solutions
  • Create bug/engineering tickets as needed to fit customers’ and the team needs
  • Act as Analytical lead on any major operational projects
  • Ensure the success of analytical aspects of major projects including any internal or external audits and end of year processes

Project Work

  • Ensure accuracy of our internal data, data/files shared with partner, error reports, internally created reports
  • Design and implement quality control via queries or automations to establish SOX controls on benefit program generated or impacted revenue
  • Lead Analytical aspect of executing regular filings and/or any additional regulatory duties as needed
  • Own the creation and management of new and existing KPI queries to track data related to the benefit program
  • Lead Analytical aspect of the annual business review for assigned Benefits Program
  • Lead Benefit Related audits as needed
  • QA member data as needed

Team Leadership Support & Process Improvement

  • Lead new-hire training for the Analyst position
  • Own identification and implementation of operational process improvements

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support

  • Communicate with leaders across various departments to make recommendations on product, process or service offerings to improve the operational efficiency of the Operations team and performance of the policy
  • Manage updates to products and systems with product and engineering teams to automate and streamline product operations
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed based on department and/or organizational needs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in operations or as an analyst
  • Experience in Account Reconciliation and/or Accounting/Finance strongly preferred
  • Advanced SQL and Excel experience required
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Technologically savvy; experience with utilizing multiple systems and software programs
  • Familiarity with business process management activities (process mapping, improvement, implementation, etc.)
  • Experience working cross-functionally
  • Ability to take initiative and work effectively on one’s own 
  • Be comfortable presenting and hosting meetings for trainings, with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Experience with project management
  • Ability to leverage data to derive insights, break down complex problems with structured approach
  • Knowledge of Python preferred
  • Tableau, Jira, and Confluence experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Employer Sponsored Benefit Plans a plus

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $97,000.00 to $106,700.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.  Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
