Modernization Technology Consultant Senior

About the role and what you'll be doing

Are you ready to step into a leadership role on an engineering team that is helping to modernize clients’ mainframe solutions? In this role, you will be working with a team of experts responsible for delivering a quality product to the client on schedule. ExperSolve, an Ensono company, migrates legacy applications to modern platforms, such as Java Spring and C# .NET, using automated tools. The Senior Modernization Software Engineer will be responsible for taking the lead on projects, developing the core classes for the client’s modernized environment, and interfacing with customers.

For local applicants, there will be opportunities to work with the team offshore in India (Pune/Bangalore/Chennai/Hyderabad), but this position can be remote as well.

Responsibilities:

• Leading client meetings and interaction, being the relentless ally for the client and unleashing them to do great things
• Applying Java or C# coding skills in an Eclipse or Visual Studio modernization environment
• Developing our core Java or C# libraries for modernized environments
• Assume technical leadership on projects to test modernized code to ensure it is performing as intended.
• Ensure that problems are appropriately analyzed, and code corrections and improvements properly implemented.
• Providing consultation and teachable moments to more junior members of the team

Required Qualifications  

• 5+ years of coding experience in Java or C#, SQL
• Experience in software testing, debugging, troubleshooting
• Problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Experience with -
  • Object-oriented programming in Java, C#, or similar languages
  • Eclipse or Visual Studio
  • Spring or .NET
  • Relational Databases (SQL/MYSQL/ORACLE)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mentoring junior colleagues on the team
• Familiar with AWS and Azure cloud technologies
• Undergraduate/Post Graduate degree, coding boot camp certification, or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with legacy languages or databases - Mainframe, IDEAL, COBOL, CICS, JCL,Datacom,DB2
