General Purpose and Scope of the Position
Under the direction of the President, the Senior Vice President for Campus Strategy and Performance (SVP) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of performance, and supporting the development and success of campus chancellors across the statewide system. The SVP leads the alignment of System Office priorities with campus execution, ensures consistent delivery of high-quality services, and champions strategies that improve productivity, accountability, and outcomes at all levels of the organization. This role is essential to advancing the President’s vision for a high-performing, student-centered, and results-driven institution.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and coordination to ensure the effective, efficient, and consistent operation of campuses across the state.

  • Serve as a key advisor and strategic partner to the President in advancing institutional performance, operational alignment, and execution of high-impact initiatives.

  • Collaborate closely with chancellors to enhance leadership capacity, drive campus-level performance, and promote a culture of accountability, service, and results.

  • Champion the development and adoption of key performance indicators (KPIs) and productivity metrics to evaluate and improve campus and system office operations.

  • Ensure efficient and streamlined campus operations by leveraging the College’s shared systems, structures, and services. Lead the operational integration of services across campuses, fostering collaboration, reducing duplication, and driving overall organizational efficiency.

  • Drive implementation of strategic initiatives that directly impact campus operations, ensuring timely delivery, resource alignment, and sustained outcomes.

  • Strengthen operational planning, resource deployment, and communication practices to support seamless coordination between System Office and campus teams.

  • Support chancellor onboarding, professional development, and performance management efforts in partnership with Human Resources and Talent Development.

  • Proactively identify challenges, risks, and opportunities in the campus operating environment and recommend actionable solutions to the President.

  • Represent the President in cross-functional meetings, councils, and external engagements as assigned.

  • Partner with legal, finance, academic affairs, and other executive leaders to ensure coordinated support and operational compliance.

  • Foster a high-performing workplace culture rooted in service, innovation, and measurable impact for students and communities.

Supervision Received: President

Supervision Given:  The SVP will directly supervise the Project Implementation and Support team. In addition, this position will provide indirect supervision and day-to-day support to campus Chancellors.

Education and Experience:  A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in higher education administration, business, public administration, or a related field is required. Candidates must have a minimum of seven (7) years of executive-level experience in a large, complex higher education or public-sector environment. Demonstrated leadership in operations, performance improvement, and organizational effectiveness is essential.

The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, a proven ability to drive measurable results, and a deep commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. Experience leading cross-functional teams of varying sizes and scopes is required, along with a demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative culture aligned with the College’s mission and values.

Preferred qualifications include experience in executive coaching and mentoring, as well as designing and implementing institutional performance metrics or scorecards to drive accountability and strategic alignment.
