Job Description:

The Lead User Experience (UX) Strategist will be responsible for Discover’s end-to-end digital experiences, with a focus on the consumer mobile app and financial product websites. This person will lead the continuous management and creation of journey maps which will showcase present and future state experiences, backed by research (desirability), business value (viability) and technical architecture (feasibility). The Lead User Experience Strategist will apply their experience and knowledge in HCI principles, data analysis, storytelling, and design methods to support the intersection of customer and business needs into a seamless customer journey.

Responsible for leading user experience strategies for Discover's website and mobile app, working closely with external design agencies to execute on designs while utilizing qualitative and quantitative data to define problems, prototyping useful and attractive online tools and landing pages, and collaborating with team members and business partners to maintain and refine brand standards. 

Works closely with Consumer Insights team to research user needs to ensure the correct issues are solved and deliver new or improved experiences that meet user needs.

Responsibilities 

  • Leads the creation and maintenance of research backed, financially sound journey maps and user flows to influence the prioritization of enhancements across product teams for the future digital customer experience.

  • Monitors industry trends, competitors' developments, and evolving experience best practices to identify our company’s strengths and gaps to competition.  

  • Plans, coordinates, and facilitates human centered design working sessions and workshops with various stakeholders to build alignment.

  • Interprets data and insights from Voice of the Customer team and partner with research team on continued enhancement of user experience.

  • Develops and/or improves customer user experiences at various points of our customer life cycle. 

  • Oversees user experience design projects to ensure cohesive user experiences throughout customers journeys. 

  • Leads UX design project with agencies to develop prototypes, socialize and execute on user research, and effectively translate research and business requirements for agencies to develop user flows, wireframes, and high–fidelity user interface mockups. 

  • Partners with brand partners to create digital experiences based within our brand guidelines. 

  • Partners with development teams to ensure user experience designs are effectively executed on.

  • Monitors the competitive landscape to understand customer expectations and to spot opportunities for innovation.

Minimum Qualifications 

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Business Administration and Management or related.

  • 6+ years of experience in Digital Marketing, Business Strategy, and/or User Experience Design project management across mobile applications and web platforms.

  • In Lieu of degree, 8+ years of experience in Digital Marketing, User Experience, Graphic Design, Web or Interface Design, or related field fields.

Preferred Qualifications

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
