Castleton Commodities International, a leading commodity trading and investment firm with headquarters in Stamford, CT is recruiting for an Insurance Risk Management professional. This role sits within the Treasury team and is responsible for managing the Company’s portfolio of insurance coverage and maintaining relationships with its global brokers.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating renewals and underwriting requests with various insurance brokers to maintain Company’s portfolio of insurance policies.
  • Work across commercial and functional teams to provide accurate and organized information in connection with underwriting requests.
  • Coordinate with brokers to establish renewal process timelines, develop appropriate market information (benchmarking, etc.) to inform decision makers and to keep abreast of major loss events in our business sector(s), and satisfy all local statutory requirements.
  • Maintenance of policy database and control of policy documentation.
  • Communication of coverage levels to Business Units and preparation of cost budgets.
  • Review of premium invoices for timely payment and reconciling allocation of premiums.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of insurance coverages and methods of allocations for each line of coverage (Casualty, Property, Workers Comp, etc.) to accurately budget expense and distribute premiums allocations to affiliates.
  • Coordination with broker for issuance of Certificates of Insurance.
  • Manage transition and integration of new acquisitions and provide advice and execution, where required, for optimal business disposals.
  • Coordinate with Trade Finance group on international shipment and cargo related policies.
  • Manage the claim process in coordination with CCI Legal and broker teams to ensure claims are properly resolved.
  • Assess financial risk and balance sheet exposure of Company’s business units to support CCI’s capital planning strategy, and participate in new business reviews.
  • Compile reports and prepare presentations to communicate to Company management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an insurance analyst, underwriter, or account manager covering corporate and financial risk coverage, preferably in the energy sector.  Completion of a full-time insurance management training program and subsequent work experience also would be considered.
  • B.A. or B.S. Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly effective in setting priorities and managing deadlines, with excellent organization time management and analytical skills.
